Two OBS will be deployed off the German island Darß in the Baltic sea, close to a oceanographic mooring. We will compare the noise levels on the seismometers with the ocean currents. If the instruments are shaken by the current, this affects the seismic measurement negatively. So far everyone agrees. However, it has not really been measured in situ, until now.
At the same time, this will be one of the very first OBS deployments in the Baltic sea and the first OBS deployment on the vessel Elisabeth Mann-Borgese.
